futurism and 'now-ism'

What is often lost in fashion today is its power to astonish and povoke. Hussein Chalayan seems to be an exception. His Spring 2007 runway spectacle wowed many. His collection addresses the subject of fashion and responds to reality in a way which look to the future, instead of the past.

While I've sort of summarised style.com's review, I really love the collection. The dresses are beautiful, finely layered, carefully pieced together and delicate. The collection overall look excitingly 'futuristic' rather than referencing the past. Go here to view the collection. Photos also from style.com
