So, now that EVERYONE on the street is wearing the low-waisted skinny jeans, fashionistas have been talking about the new jeans trend. Some says the boyfriend jeans (yuck) and many mentioned the high-waisted skinny jeans. It seems opinions are split regarding this trend. And I think it is a difficult trend to pull off- you really need to have the right body and the right cut for it to work. If the jeans are light blue and have wide/straight legs, then they would look like the dreaded mom jeans (horror horror). For the skinny versions, they might make your hips look huge or flatten your bum and/or make it look long. Look at the lovely Scarlett:


Seen here on the Imitation of Christ Spring 2006 runway, she looks super bottom heavy.

However, if worn right, they'd control your tummy area and elongate your bottom half especially when worn with heels.
Cheap Mondays have two new high-waisted jeans out: the skyscraper and the eiffel tower. The eiffel tower is ridiculously high but the skyscraper seems to be at an appropriate length. I'm going to check them out at Alphaville in Prahran tomorrow.
